Libra NRWG offers certified natural smoke extraction systems compliant with EN 12101-2, featuring pneumatic or electric controls, for new construction and renovation projects.

Natural smoke and heat exhaust for greater safety

Libra NRWG is a smoke and heat exhaust vent tested in accordance with DIN EN 12101-2 that reliably directs smoke and heat to the outside in the event of a fire, thereby ensuring a smoke-free zone for evacuation and firefighting operations. With VdS approval for pneumatic operation, U-values up to 0.85 W/m²K, and tested sizes up to 200 × 270 cm, the device is suitable for new construction and renovation—including on existing roofs and in heated or air-conditioned rooms.

Certified smoke extraction

Libra NRWG offers safety certified in accordance with DIN EN 12101-2 and ensures reliable smoke and heat exhaust in the event of a fire. This maintains a smoke-free zone, which significantly facilitates evacuation and firefighting efforts. In addition, the removal of heat preserves the load-bearing capacity of building components, prevents the complete destruction of the building, and thus also ensures the protection of property.

 

Opening systems (electric & pneumatic)

Libra NRWG can be operated pneumatically or electrically (24 V/230 V, 48 V available upon request). The electric version is suitable for integration into modern building management systems, while the pneumatic version, which is VdS-approved, is particularly cost-effective and ideal for retrofitting. In addition to qualified smoke extraction, Libra NRWG can also be used for daily ventilation—a combined solution that brings together comfort and safety in a single unit.

 

Certified smoke exhaust system for building renovation

Libra NRWG is also available as an approved retrofit solution in accordance with DIN EN 12101-2. The tested combination of a retrofit flange and smoke exhaust device is ideal for retrofitting existing buildings.

 

Nominal sizes & flanges for new construction and renovation

The system is available in a wide range of tested sizes up to 200 × 270 cm and can be flexibly adapted to a variety of roof structures and construction projects using different mounting rings. This makes Libra NRWG ideal for both new construction and renovation projects.

 

Windbreaks

Optional wind deflectors improve the machine's aerodynamic performance and ensure optimal smoke extraction even in unfavorable wind conditions.

 

Different types of glazing

A variety of glazing options are available to meet energy efficiency and functional requirements, including versions with U-values as low as 0.85 W/m²K—ideal for rooms with different temperatures.

 

Snow load dome

The snow load dome is suitable for locations where increased snow loads are expected. It features a reinforced outer shell and a properly sized opening system.

Operating mode

Electric

The Libra NRWG can be operated as an electric smoke extraction system with smart building technology. In addition to reliable smoke extraction functionality, its modern control technology also enables a continuously programmable ventilation function—ideal for comfortable nighttime cooling.

An additional advantage: In the event of a false alarm, the skylight can be quickly and easily closed again—for maximum operational safety and comfort.

 

Pneumatic

The pneumatic version of the Libra NRWG offers a cost-effective control system with VdS system and device certification, making it ideal for renovations and retrofits of existing systems. An affordable electric actuator can also be installed for daily ventilation.

 

Top trim

New Construction: Steel Capping Ring

The use of the extremely robust and torsion-resistant steel collar is recommended for the Libra NRWG skylight smoke extraction system. In combination with the optionally available wind deflectors, it ensures reliable smoke extraction. The steel mounting ring, which comes standard with mineral fiber insulation and a PVC roof flashing, is available in three heights ranging from 300 to 750 mm.

 

New Construction: Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Flashing

The double-walled fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) collar, featuring integrated insulation and high insulation values, has a height of 500 mm.

 

Renovation: Steel renovation collar

This steel roof collar, which comes standard with mineral fiber insulation and a PVC roof flashing profile, is ideal for raising the height of existing roof collars. The roof collar, which is up to 62 mm thick, has a height of 250 mm.

 

Renovation: PVC renovation collar

A functional multi-chamber system that can be optimally adapted to existing countertop edges. The 60 mm-thick adapter has a height of 200 mm.

The skylight dome offers maximum flexibility thanks to a variety of glazing options made from high-quality plastics. Its streamlined design minimizes dirt buildup and facilitates the free flow of dust particles carried by rainwater. The sturdy, energy-efficient construction is based on a torsion-resistant multi-chamber profile with a dual sealing system—ensuring high load-bearing capacity and reliable thermal insulation values.

 

Electric and pneumatic opening systems are available for daily ventilation and certified smoke extraction. The 24-volt electric version is suitable for smart building technology and allows for individual control, while the pneumatic system offers a cost-effective solution with VdS system and device certification—ideal for new construction and renovations.

 

The steel flashing with roof connection profile ensures a stable and durable mounting for all hardware, opening mechanisms, and safety-related components. It provides a sturdy foundation for installing the NRWG system and can be flexibly adapted to various roof structures.
