Glass louver windows for vertical facades

The Apus louver window combines high-quality façade design with high-performance ventilation and smoke extraction technology. The louvers, made of double- or triple-pane insulated glass, along with aluminum profiles in RAL colors, open up a wide range of architectural possibilities. At the same time, Apus meets the requirements of DIN EN 14351-1 and is tested as an NRWG in accordance with DIN EN 12101-2—an efficient solution for natural ventilation and smoke extraction, particularly in multi-story buildings where lower levels cannot be ventilated via the roof.

Modern design

Apus stands out for its elegant, clean lines and aluminum profiles that can be customized in any color. The system integrates seamlessly into sophisticated façade designs and offers maximum architectural freedom. The louvers can be finished with either insulated glass or sandwich panels.

 

Classifications

The Apus louvered window features an U-value of up to 1.57 W/m²K and Class 3 air permeability. In addition, the window has soundproofing values of 39 dB and is certified to RC2 burglary resistance standards.

 

Ventilation

For daily ventilation, Apus can be equipped with a 24-V electric motor. The louvers open wide outward along a horizontal axis and, in the standard version, achieve an opening angle of approximately 64°. The large louver surface area enables rapid air exchange, e.g., for efficient nighttime cooling.

 

smoke extraction

Apus has been tested in accordance with DIN EN 12101-2 for use as a smoke and heat exhaust vent. Even in the event of a fire, the benefits of the wide opening angles become apparent; together with the large louvre surface area, they ensure the maximum possible exhaust area. This allows smoke to escape quickly.

System architecture

Depending on the thermal performance requirements, double-pane or triple-pane insulated glass is available. Alternatively, the system can be equipped with a sandwich panel—ideal for specific building physics requirements.

 

Side brush seals and horizontal joint connections with brush and EPDM seals ensure a reliable seal, reduce heat loss, and guarantee high resistance to wind and driving rain.

 

The profiles can be anodized, powder-coated, or painted as desired. This allows Apus to be perfectly adapted to standard color schemes and custom facade designs.

 

The concealed hardware is made of corrosion-resistant materials and ensures long-lasting, low-maintenance functionality combined with a high-quality appearance.
